Abstract

|
|
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the usefulness of US in making a differential diagnosis of diaphragmatic and peri-diaphragmatic disorders. The patients included nine with diaphragmatic rupture (8 traumatic, 1 iatrogenic), three with diaphragmatic eventration, two with diaphragmatic paralysis, two with basal lung mass, two with pleural mass, and two with huge hepatic mass. The diagnoses were confirmed by surgery or biopsy (n=12), and clinical follow-up study(n=8). US was useful in the evaluation of diaphragmatic and peri-diaphragmatic disorder.
